Spinal Decompression Therapy for Palmetto Patients

Spinal decompression therapy is considered for people with disc bulges, sciatic pain, spinal stenosis, or ongoing back discomfort. The key decision is whether the exam supports decompression as part of a wider care plan.

We start with a new patient intake, health history, and physical exam. X-rays may be considered when clinically indicated. Our team then explains the findings and outlines suitable care, which may include traction, Cox flexion-distraction, or rehabilitation.

This service isn't a match for every symptom. Severe or unusual symptoms need prompt medical review, and our evaluation helps determine when another type of care is more suitable.

  • Review symptoms, prior injuries, and current health history.
  • Check movement, spinal function, and areas linked to back or leg symptoms.
  • Discuss whether traction or decompression fits the findings.
  • Set a personalized treatment plan with progress checks.

Check movement and spinal function

The exam reviews movement limits, pain patterns, and signs linked to disc-related or nerve symptoms.

3

Explain the report of findings

We discuss what the examination shows and whether spinal decompression or another method fits the problem.

4

Apply the selected treatment method

Care may include controlled traction, Cox flexion-distraction, adjustments, or soft tissue therapy.

What patients receive from this care

A plan based on examination findings

We use thorough patient evaluations to decide whether spinal decompression fits your symptoms. The first step is an intake, exam, and report of findings, not a preset treatment choice.

More than one treatment method

Our care may combine spinal decompression with Cox flexion-distraction, diversified adjustments, Activator Method techniques, or soft tissue therapy when those methods fit the plan.

Board-certified clinical leadership

Dr. Frank Bostic leads the practice with board certification in Chiropractic and Physiotherapy. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from Georgia Southern University.

When decompression is not the right fit

This place is great. They have a good sized staff so you rarely have to wait. Because of how little wait time there is it’s very easy to just walk in. Even when you walk in without an appointment the waits aren’t long. The staff here is also extremely polite. Also they have great hours. The fact they close at 6 makes it extremely easy to get here. The place is also extremely clean which is always a bonus for me.

Questions about spinal decompression care

What conditions may spinal decompression therapy address?

Nerve pressure may relate to disc bulges, sciatic pain, spinal stenosis, or other back problems. We assess your symptoms, movement, and health history before choosing care. The examination helps us decide whether decompression fits your needs. Results vary, and individual response differs.

What should be checked before treatment is scheduled?

A health history and physical exam should be checked before treatment is scheduled.

  • We review current symptoms and prior injuries.
  • We check movement and spinal function.
  • We consider X-rays when clinically indicated.

These findings guide the report of findings and personalized treatment plan.

Who is a good fit, and who needs a different service?

Patients with selected disc-related pain, sciatica, or mobility limits may be good candidates after an evaluation. Severe, unusual, or rapidly changing symptoms may need another form of medical care. We discuss the concern during the exam and explain the safest next step. Decompression isn't prescribed from symptoms alone.

How does the first visit guide the treatment plan?

The first visit guides care through an intake, examination, and report of findings. We ask about symptoms, prior injuries, medicines, and daily limits. The exam then helps us select traction, Cox flexion-distraction, adjustments, or rehabilitation. You receive a plan that matches the findings discussed with you.

Which treatment methods may be combined with decompression?

Spinal decompression may be combined with Cox flexion-distraction, soft tissue therapy, TENS, or individualized rehabilitation. We select methods from the examination and your treatment goals. Diversified adjustments and Activator Method techniques may also be considered. Each method has a different role within the care plan.

Why might symptoms continue after treatment begins?

Symptoms may continue because individual response differs and the underlying problem may need broader rehabilitation. We review movement, symptom changes, daily activity, and the treatment plan during follow-up care. Ongoing or worsening symptoms should be discussed with us promptly. We may adjust the plan or recommend another type of evaluation.

What information should I bring after an accident?

Accident details, prior medical records, current medicines, and imaging reports can help us assess your care. Bring information about the date, body areas affected, and symptoms that changed afterward. In Palmetto, personal-injury patients can also ask about our legal referral network and treatment coordination.
