What Chiropractic Adjustment Covers

Chiropractic Adjustment is a hands-on treatment that applies controlled force to selected spinal or joint areas.

  • Chiropractic Adjustment differs from rehabilitation exercise because it focuses on joint movement, while rehabilitation builds strength and movement control.
  • Newnan patients receive this service at our office for musculoskeletal injuries, chronic discomfort, and mobility limits.

About

How adjustment care addresses pain and movement limits

A chiropractic adjustment uses controlled pressure to improve motion in a selected joint or spinal area. We choose the method after reviewing your health history, symptoms, posture, and movement. Our care may include diversified adjustments, the Activator Method, or Cox flexion-distraction. The right approach depends on the body area, injury history, and your stated goals. We may pair adjustments with traction, TENS therapy, kinesio taping, myofascial release, or rehabilitation exercises. An adjustment isn't suitable for every symptom. Severe or unusual symptoms need careful review, and some conditions require medical evaluation. We refer patients when their needs extend beyond chiropractic care.

Process

What happens during a chiropractic adjustment visit

1

Health history and symptom review

We discuss your pain, injury history, current symptoms, and treatment goals. This step helps us identify risks before care begins.

2

Posture and movement assessment

We assess posture and movement to guide spinal care and corrective exercise. We also look for signs that need medical referral.

3

Method selection

We select a technique that fits your condition, such as diversified adjustment, Activator Method, or Cox flexion-distraction.

4

Adjustment and supporting care

We provide the selected adjustment and may add traction, TENS therapy, kinesio taping, or myofascial release.

5

Response review

We listen to your feedback and review your movement response. If the response raises concern, we change the plan or refer you for medical evaluation.

What to prepare before an adjustment visit

Bring details that help us understand your symptoms and choose safe, useful care.

  • A list of current symptoms and when they began.
  • Details about any car, truck, motorcycle, slip-and-fall, sports, or workplace accident.
  • Information about prior injuries, medical conditions, and current care.
  • A list of current medicines or treatments.
  • Questions about adjustment methods, rehabilitation, or follow-up care.

My name is Daffaney Foster. Dr. Bostic has made my first experience with a chiropractor extremely smooth. He walked me through each step. My body was tensed upon arrival, then after the massage bed and the stim therapy , my body feels amazing. I had neck and back pain and it is starting to fade away! I feel better than when I first started. Maria is very knowledgeable, sweet and super personable which makes the visits a lot less stressful.

Questions about chiropractic adjustment care

Who provides chiropractic adjustments at the Newnan office?

Arrowhead Clinic Chiropractor Newnan provides chiropractic adjustments for patients in Newnan and Coweta County. Dr. Frank Bostic leads the practice, and the clinic provides chiropractic and physiotherapy rehabilitation care. We begin with a patient evaluation, review your concerns, and select an approach that fits your condition. Available methods include diversified adjustments, Activator Method techniques, and Cox flexion-distraction.

What changes the cost of an adjustment visit?

The cost depends on the evaluation, care method, added therapies, and whether injury-related coordination is needed. We explain available care options after reviewing your condition and goals. A free consultation lets you discuss your concerns before care begins. Ask us for current quote details because no fixed service amount applies to every patient.

Can an adjustment help pain after a car accident?

Adjustment care may help some accident-related pain, but the right plan depends on your injuries and exam findings. Whiplash, neck injuries, back injuries, and soft-tissue injuries may need different care. We review the accident history and symptoms before recommending treatment. Personal-injury patients can also ask about our legal referral network and treatment coordination.

What is a red flag after a chiropractic adjustment?

New or worsening weakness, severe numbness, loss of coordination, or unusual severe pain needs prompt medical evaluation. Do not continue care without discussing these symptoms. We review your response after an adjustment and refer you when your needs extend beyond chiropractic care. Tell us about any change in symptoms during your visit or consultation.

Is spinal decompression better than a regular adjustment?

Neither method is better for every patient because the choice depends on the condition, symptoms, and exam findings. A regular adjustment targets selected joint motion, while spinal decompression uses a different table-based approach. We review your history and goals before recommending either option. Individual response differs, so we explain the reason for the selected method.

Can I get a same-day appointment for severe back pain?

Same-day appointments are available, but severe or unusual symptoms may require medical evaluation first. We review your symptoms and health history before providing chiropractic care. Sudden weakness, serious numbness, or loss of bladder or bowel control requires urgent medical attention. Call the office to discuss your situation and scheduling options.

Do I need a doctor's referral before an adjustment?

A doctor's referral isn't always required before chiropractic care, but some situations may call for medical coordination. We review your symptoms and history during the intake process. Insurance rules can also affect referral requirements and benefits. Bring any referral, imaging, or treatment notes you already have so we can consider them during your evaluation.

When Customers Call Us About Chiropractic Adjustment

1

Pain after a vehicle accident

Whiplash or back pain after a car, truck, or motorcycle accident can affect movement and daily tasks. The injury history matters because force, timing, and symptoms guide the exam. Bring accident details and current treatment information. We can assess your condition, explain care options, and connect personal-injury patients with our legal referral network when appropriate.

2

Recurring neck stiffness and headaches

Neck stiffness with headaches may involve posture, joint motion, muscle tension, or another cause. The pattern of symptoms matters more than one painful spot. We assess posture and movement, then explain whether adjustment care fits. If findings point beyond chiropractic care, we refer you for medical evaluation.

3

Back pain with leg symptoms

Back pain that travels into the leg can involve nerve irritation or disc-related problems. Weakness, numbness, or changing symptoms should be discussed during intake. We review your health history and movement before choosing an adjustment method. A medical referral may be appropriate when the symptoms extend beyond chiropractic care.
